KWAK Jaeyong (born in 1959) studied physics at Kyunghee University in Seoul, Korea. Making his debut with (1990)>, he established himself as a world renowned director with the following smash- hit film . This saucy romantic comedy is expected to be remade in the US this year by director Yann Samuell and producer Gold Circle Films. KWAK also penned the screenplay for Addicted (2002), the original Korean film of the Yari Film Group’s remake, starring Sarah Michelle Gellar and Lee Pace. Achieving the all-time box office hit (2.7 billion ¥ ) with as Korean movies released in Japan, KWAK became the only Korean director who both won the hearts of Asian moviegoers and earned a box office smash. He is known for his limitless fondness of love stories with the mix of different genres.
