This is a collection of selected works from the International Competition that were not produced in Japan. There are seven programes from I-A to I-G.
JAPAN PREMIERE
Three of the latest short films produced in Japan will be premiered for the first time at the Sapporo International Short Film Festival. Future masters will be born from this program!

NATIONAL PROGRAMME
Selected works for the Japan Production Competition. National A and National B programs. The latest topical works from Japan will compete for approximately 20 awards, including the Grand Prix.

FAMILY & CHILDREN
This is a collection of animes from around the world that can be enjoyed mainly by first graders and older. These films can be enjoyed by the whole family. In addition to the international competition, the films are eligible for the Children's Choice Award, which is decided by the children's jury.

SHUNJI IWAI PROGRAMME
The year 2021 marks exactly 30 years since the debut of director Shunji Iwai in 19991. In commemoration of the 30th anniversary of his drama debut, we will be screening works from the early days of his career! You can enjoy three valuable short dramas that show the origin of director Shunji Iwai.
