RIBBONESIA, founded by artist Mugi Maeda and director Toru Yoshikawa, is an artist duo that focuses on colorful ribbons—materials that usually serve only briefly as gift wrapping—and transforms them into creations of animals, plants, and other motifs. Their approach resembles three-dimensional origami, reimagining ribbons as an artistic medium. They have worked widely both in Japan and abroad, creating packaging and visual presentations for major retail brands in fashion, cosmetics, and food, as well as event displays for hotels and commercial facilities.
