As modernization advances, Ōwani Onsen bean sprouts are still produced in traditional sheds as they have always been. The geothermal heat from the hot springs is used, and both the straw used in the sheds and the straw used for bundling after harvesting come from natural sources, minimizing the environmental impact.

The Ainu culture, which has been passed down mainly in Hokkaido, is deeply connected to nature and daily life. The works of the two Ainu artists conveyed the living spirit of the culture, while also weaving it into the future.
