We have received so many submissions. It reached more than 3,200 submissions so far. It is a record number of films since we changed regulations in 2010 that only accept 1 year production period.
The submissions are still growing and we have received many e-mail messages asking if we received their dvd on time.

We have received so many dvds and it takes time to check all the entry forms and dvds.
Those who submitted from shortfilmsdepot.com please login to shortfilmsdepot.com and check your submission status. We change each submission status to < Reception confirmed > when we finish checking entry forms. The submission from Spotrights.jp also capable to check each submission status. But checking entry forms and dvds take time, it might take 3 to 5 days.
Before you send a message asking if your dvd has arrived, please check your submission status.

If you are sending your dvd please send to new address below. And We are not able to reply emails promptly from 29 March to 2 April.
And please do not send DL URL link we are not capable of DL each files.

For our 8th edition of Sapporo International Short Film festival & Market we start taking new submissions from today Dec 6 until March 31. please submit your short film from Spotright.jp


Requirements
- Filmmakers of all nationalities are welcome to submit.
- All films submitting One Title section must be less than 30 minutes (including credit rolls and others) .
- For submitting Filmmakers' section all the films must be less than 40 minutes.
- All films must have English title. The Festival only uses and announces English title.
- All films submitted to the "One Title section" must be completed after January 1st, 2012.
- For the "Filmmaker section," older films (finished before January 2012) can be included.
- Fill in all required fields of the entry form using English.
- Films submitted online will be given original ID and Password from SAPPORO Shot Fest's Entry Management System "Spotrights.jp". For managing and modifying your entry information, please login to the "Spotrights".
- For the entry, please send evaluation preview copy of your film.
- For producing Japanese subtitles please send also English dialogue list on CD-R along with entry form and preview DVD or upload it on Spotrights.jp

Sapporo Peace Award

The year 2012 will mark the 20th anniversary of the Sapporo Peace Declaration. In light of the purpose of the declaration, the Peace Award will be given to the film which provides the audience with an opportunity to think about peace and their roles toward creating a peaceful world as well as contributing to peace education for children. We are looking forward to many submissions for this award.

SAPPORO Short Fest Committee announces SSF2011 Official Selection Competition Shortlist.


The Festival's selecting committee selected 4 filmmakers for Filmmakers' Section and 47 films for International and Family & Children programme and 11 films for Japan National Programme from One Title Section.


And we would like to express our appreciation for all the submissions. The festival office also proudly announces "Selecting Committee's Festival Favorites". All the film gave us great pleasure and difficult time to select. It serves as recommended list for short film market as well.
